Our end-of-year holiday vignettes capture the talent of our team and help to share “Our GW” culture. Together, our team of graphic designers, videographers, social media specialists, project managers and web and digital content developers help to create assets that enhance, promote and capture life on campus and help share GW’s vision and message with the world beyond.
Case Study: Commencement 2020
Although our GW community has been spread out across the globe during these challenging times, we were determined to commemorate the accomplishments and contributions of the Class of 2020 together virtually. On Sunday, May 17, GW hosted the Virtual Commencement Celebration to officially confer degrees and welcome the 2020 graduates into our worldwide network of over 300,000 GW alumni. The video, which featured addresses from GW senior leadership as well as messages from graduating students, was posted to GW's Facebook page and Commencement website starting at 11:00 am E.T. on May 17 and has accrued over 37,000 views.
It was important to provide graduating students with as many tools as possible to celebrate this monumental milestone from home with family and friends. Congratulations to GW's resilient Class of 2020, and always Raise High!
In order to enhance the digital celebration, foster community engagement and display GW pride, Marketing and Creative Services designed a variety of Commencement-themed Gifs. These interactive features promoted user-generated content across Instagram.
This Class of 2020 Facebook profile frame was another way for graduates and families to share this major accomplishment with Facebook friends.
Commencement-themed Instagram lenses allowed graduates to try on virtual regalia such a GW graduation cap and tassel. The lens effects were shared over 400 times on Instagram.
Marketing and Creative Services also designed Class of 2020 Yard Signs that were downloaded over 1,940 times during Commencement weekend. The signs came in two designs and three different sizes, and could be displayed in windows, doors and yards.
Lastly, our team worked closely with all of the GW schools to produce an online PDF and print-ready Commencement program for each school celebration featuring all of the graduates' names. These programs were downloaded over 8,300 times.
